Vitalgas is a specialist autogas supplier, so it is very familiar with the strong greenhouse credentials of this versatile product. Recent tests have confirmed these credentials, with results from autogas-powered vehicles showing a 13% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to equivalent petrol-powered vehicles. So here’s the opportunity to play your part in reducing society’s carbon footprint – and save money at the same time!

Looking forward, these carbon benefits have the potential to increase as the proportion of LPG being supplied from indigenous natural gas fields increases, as opposed to refinery-sourced LPG, and as emissions from production are reduced. With the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) intensity of natural gas field-sourced LPG being about half that of refinery-sourced LPG, the GHG benefit by year 2020 is forecast to be 19% less than today’s ULP emissions, when using optimised engine technology. *
